Mt LeConte
Nana, thanks for the weather warning...
LeConte holds a lot more memories, stories and we can have hot drinks on top without carrying a stove!
We will save Charles Bunion for a warmer time!
Yeah folks think we are crazy to hike further...but they are crazy not too...
look what they are missing!
How many bridges to the parking lot?
I think I count going up everytime, but I still am unsure when I am coming down. :)
Scottie, Em & I left Jeff a message & a water bottle...
Jeff got the water but not the message....oh well it was fun arranging the rocks.

Dad's Birthday!
On Dad's Birthday, Nana & Pop came to help us celebrate! Dad got books and shirts, us girls got some beautiful scarves, ZoZo got a yummy bone and shared a bone with Roxie. We all got our favorite Historical figure, Ben Franklin, protrait in our favorite color, green.
Thanks Nana & Pop!

We are wrapping presents,(well Emily is wrapping I'm approving) "6 inches of ribbon!" It is cold and gray and we had two days of yucky rain. Trying to get into the spirit, can't wait for everyone to come home....games are ready! The puzzle is glow in the dark, but it is snowy so 1000 pieces of purply gray pieces, they really need to have clear boxes so that we can know what insanity we will face. I didn't get the pink christmas tree that I wanted, all out. How great is a pink Christmas tree? Well, keep the sleighs between the ditches.

I'm going to post about a hike, because I would like to hear about Nana and Pop's hikes too!
Saturday I went to Hood River, OR in the Columbia River Gorge. You can see Mount Hood and Mount Adams from there. There is very little snow in Oregon right now (except on the peaks), so the snow trails and skiing that are typically open this time of the year are closed. The good thing is that you can still hike in the mount hood area and not have to worry about your car sliding off the road! Saturday we drove on the road to mount hood and went on a hike to see a waterfall.
Also, in Corvallis last week I saw a large flock of dusky Canada geese. What are they, you ask? straight from the internet:
"The dusky geese is a subspecies of Canada goose that breeds only in the Copper River Delta area on the south-central coast of Alaska and on islands in the Prince William Sound and Gulf of Alaska. They winter primarily in the Willamette Valley and along the lower Columbia River of Oregon and Washington. The dusky has one of the smallest populations of geese in North America."
